Introduction: The creation & formation of WACICO & The Double T Ted's®
Please note that work on the WACICO website is presently on hold as Keith D helps out the artist Jon-Paul with his Eddie The Egg characters website due to the characters appearance on TV due in Feb 2012. This is being done to provide the Double T Ted's with things for Teddington Palace and Teddington Court and various Double T Ted's characters so work will re commence on the WACICO site soon
Inspiration for The Double T Ted's®, one of the main reasons for the formation of WACICO, began in the nineteen sixties & early nineteen seventies when the creator of the Double T Ted's® Teddy Bear Characters Keith D regularly listened to a vinyl LP of The Jungle Book Story, the soundtrack of a Disney Film. The Jungle Book is a beautifully written story and the Disney animated film is also an all time classic.
The Jungle Book (1894) is a collection of stories by British Nobel laureate Rudyard Kipling . The stories were first published in magazines in 1893–4. The original publications contain illustrations, some by Rudyard's father, John Lockwood Kipling . "The Bare Necessities " is a song , written by Terry Gilkyson , from the animated 1967 Disney Film (Walt Disney co founder of Disney died in 1966 during the time the Jungle Book Film Production was going on).
The Jungle Book "The Bare Necessities" was sung by Phil Harris as Baloo and Bruce Reitherman as Mowgli with the lyrics "Look for the bare necessities. The simple bare necessities. Forget about your worries and your strife. I mean the bare necessities. Old Mother Nature's recipes. That brings the bare necessities of life. Wherever I wander, wherever I roam I couldn't be fonder of my big home. The bees are buzzin' in the tree. To make some honey just for me. When you look under the rocks and plants And take a glance at the fancy ants. Then maybe try a few. The bare necessities of life will come to you. They'll come to you!"
This all had a different meaning to Keith D than it did to most, as years later did the Google advice "so now go and build links" statement they made in reference to some of their technology somewhere. Keith's way of looking at such thngs being analytical and far ranging, bordering on the obessesive and compulsive in nature, even at an early age.
The Creator of WACICO & The Double T Ted's Keith D (born in 1967) listened to this album from the age of 1 in 1968 regularly to the age of about 5 or 6 in 1972/3 on his Dad's nice sounding stereo system with Yamaha natural sound amplifier and American Studiocraft speakers by Bose, whilst also reading the illustrated story that was a part of the vinyl albums cover and packaging. Having seen the Disney film and having a vivid child's imagination Keith D imagined other stories whilst watching the film and reading the album cover story which got transferred over to play time when stuffed teddy bears, action figures and lego, play figures, and all manner of children's toys we're arranged into different stories.
Looking back this was where the Double T Ted's® first started, though at this time they we're just Ted's to a small child. Throughout his life The Double T Ted's® creator Keith D always had the most trouble correctly spelling the word, well words, necessity and necessary. It was as though it was some sort of subconscious block always drawing attention to these words that often recalled the Jungle book and that Bare Necessities song in Keith D's mind. Necessities & Necessary like Bare & Bear always cause confusion for many people using English, even when they know, a pause is often present for everyone with the use of these four words when written. And lets not even go there with necessitate & necessitated or NecessitatTed will appear.
So Keith D decided to take all those little childhood building of World's over to the real World. First came the Double T Ted's in 2006 when a spelling mistake "elongatTed" was made in a story being written. The mistake was noticed & a pause was made that resulted in the writing down of the first Double T Ted's® names. The Double T Ted's trademark was filed on 11 July 2007 with the UK Intellectual Property Office as can be seen here.
In 2011 on SEPT 28th Keith D put the plan of building PlanetTed for the Double T Ted's & WACICO, the UK's answer to Disney at last, into action. WACICO.com was registered and all the fragmented ideas that had been learned from since the Double T Ted's that first came into being in 2006 started to get focused.
With WACICO.com this began with the listing of Writers & Artists portfolios, which in it's self is a multi facted part of the over all plans, whilst development of the Double T Ted's continues constantly.
With plans for PlanetTed, Teddington Palace & Teddington Court being secretly made for CartoonistTed, IllustratTed, CaricaturistTed & Other Double T Ted's®
WACICO: The acronym, abbreviation & initialization for "Writers, Artists, Cartoonists, Illustrators, Caricaturists Organisation (Organization)" providing the perfect platform & umbrella name with WACICO being to the Double T Ted's like Disney is to Disney Characters.
